This week the Friends of Tucker Path Board of Directors and the Tucker City Council met in a city council work session to discuss goals of the trail organization, economic development, and branding. This is the first time a community group has been invited to meet with the council in a work session format, and the first to discuss shared goals and a shared vision for trail development in the city.

The Friends of Tucker Path formed in 2020, as an initiative of the Tucker-Northlake CID, to coordinate fundraising, public relations, community education, and implementation support of multi-use trails throughout the City of Tucker and surrounding areas.

Over the last two years the group has promoted trail development throughout the city and worked with the City of Tucker on recommendations for future trail development.

The Board and City Council discussed commercial and residential property values, funding sources, public safety, and branding. The primary focus of the meeting was discussion around the opportunity to develop a Tucker specific brand for the trail system. One that would be independent of the PATH Foundation name to avoid brand confusion. Slides from the presentation are available at this link.
