The Tucker-Northlake CID continues to work with the City of Tucker and DeKalb County on land use and transportation planning, including the DeKalb County 2050 Unified Plan. The plan is an update to the previous county land use and transportation plans and will combine both into one “unified” plan. The intent is to help County leaders prioritize investments that impact both areas simultaneously.

The Draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan is currently available online for public review. The draft Transportation Plan will be available later this year. Both documents are updates to the existing County plans and continue to recognize Downtown Tucker as a destination and the Northlake District as an activity center.

In addition to these documents, the County has provided an interactive map to see proposed transportation projects in unincorporated DeKalb. This includes proposed trail connections into the CID from Mercer University, and multimodal improvements on Lavista Road west of the CID, and various intersection improvements in the surrounding area. The Unified Plan will be implemented in three tiers over the next 28 years. To learn more about the project and the implementation timeline, visit the DeKalb County 2050 Unified Plan website.
