The Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) is a grant program created by the Atlanta Regional Commission that incentivizes counties, cities, and community improvement districts (CIDs), to re-envision their communities as vibrant, walkable places that offer increased mobility options, encourage healthy lifestyles and provide improved access to jobs and services.

The LCI program is funded with federal transportation dollars. The grants cover 80% of the cost of each study or transportation project, with the recipient making a 20% match.

The Tucker Northlake LCI was created in 2002 and is responsible for funding several transportation efforts including the Northlake Streetscape, the Downtown Tucker Streetscape, the Downtown Tucker Grid Plan, and the Tucker Northlake Trail. The Tucker-Northlake CID is pleased to be the Atlanta Regional Commission’s local LCI sponsor.
