The Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID) has released a new public safety brochure titled Public Safety: Protecting What Matters Most.” This resource is designed to communicate how the CID supports business owners through targeted public safety initiatives—and to invite more stakeholders to join the effort.

The brochure outlines the CID’s contributions to local safety, including supplemental patrols by off-duty DeKalb County officers, investments in license plate reader (LPR) technology, and ongoing advocacy with law enforcement and government partners. Beyond outlining services, the brochure is also a visual statement about what—and who—we are working to protect.

“Public safety isn’t just about crime stats or patrol cars. It’s about people, families, and businesses having the peace of mind they need to thrive,” said Matthew Lee, Executive Director of the Tucker-Northlake CID. “This brochure helps tell that story clearly and visually.”

The layout was developed with the help of a design consultant, but the text and photo selection were guided in-house to ensure it reflected the CID’s values and ground level efforts.

A Visual Message: Public Safety Is Personal

Each photo in the brochure was intentionally chosen to align with the core message—that safety is about protecting what matters most to our community. Here’s how the imagery enhances the message:

  • Front Cover – Smiling Family
The brochure opens with an image of a happy, relaxed family. By focusing on everyday people rather than enforcement, it humanizes the issue and reminds viewers that public safety is about protecting quality of life, not just enforcing laws.
  • Inside Left – DeKalb County Police Car
A marked patrol vehicle reinforces the credibility and visibility of local law enforcement. It also reflects the CID’s investment in supplemental patrols—a tangible contribution to safer commercial areas.
  • Inside Right – Second Smiling Family
This image bookends the story, showing that the outcome of a well-supported safety strategy is stronger families and more secure communities. It emphasizes peace of mind as the ultimate goal.
  • Back Panel – Downtown Tucker at Night
A nighttime photo of Main Street serves as a quiet reminder of what safety looks like in practice: clean, lit, and welcoming spaces where people feel safe after dark.

Building a Safer, Stronger Community

The new brochure underscores the CID’s identity as a smart, service-oriented partner in economic development and public safety. It also serves as an invitation—for property owners, business operators, and residents—to take part in keeping Tucker secure and thriving.

A digital version of the brochure is available below. Printed copies will be distributed to businesses and commercial property owners across the CID.
