The Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID) has partnered with DeKalb County Fire Rescue to repaint all County fire hydrants within the TNCID. The County code requires all hydrants to be painted sliver, rather than the existing yellow. The previous method of using multi-colored hydrants has also been discontinued.
This partnership will help provide a fresh updated look to hydrants throughout the CID, enable firefighters to more easily locate hydrants day and night, and accomplishes the work in a shorter time period than if left solely to the Fire Rescue staff from Engines 5 and 22.
We are glad to have the specialized skills of DeKalb Fire Rescue available 24 hours a day and are happy to contribute our time and effort, in this small way, to make their jobs a little easier and to beautify the community.
