The Tucker-Northlake CID is partnering with MARTA to install shelters at two heavily-used bus stops in the district: one on Northlake Parkway near Crescent Centre Boulevard and one on Henderson Mill Road in front of Briarcliff Village Shopping Center. Earlier this month, the CID installed the concrete pads, and MARTA will be installing the shelters soon. We are fortunate to be able to partner with MARTA. Partnerships such as this allow us to leverage our resources to maximize our investments in the district.

These two shelters are only the beginning of the bus stop upgrades planned for this year. The CID will also be improving thirteen additional bus stops with amenities such as seating, ADA upgrades, and trash cans. These sites are in the final stages of GDOT permitting and should be breaking ground sometime this fall.

This bus stop improvement project is part of the CID’s ongoing commitment to improving transportation options for residents, employees, and consumers throughout our district. Other transportation projects planned for this year include two sidewalk projects that are scheduled to break ground shortly and a traffic signalization study that will be conducted in partnership with the City of Tucker later this year. Tucker-Northlake CID will also be partnering with the City of Tucker and DeKalb County on a Master Plan for the Northlake area, which will have a focus on improving transportation throughout the area.
