On Wednesday April 19, 2023, the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID) held its annual stakeholder meeting for commercial property owners. The meeting was held at the Doubletree Hotel on Lavista Road. The meeting was attended by commercial property owners and business leaders throughout the CID, as well as elected officials and county and city staff.

Elected officials included DeKalb County Commissioners Steve Bradshaw and Lorraine Cochran-Johnson; Tucker Mayor, Frank Auman; Chamblee Mayor, Brian Mock; and Tucker city council persons Anne Lerner and Cara Schroeder.

Attendees heard updates on commercial trash collection from DeKalb County Chief Operating Officer, Zach Williams, and Sanitation Director, Tracy Hutchinson. Tucker Precinct Major, Matthew Hardin, gave an update on public safety in the CID and Fusus Public Safety Advisor, Jim Price gave an introduction to connectdekalb.org.

Tucker-Northlake CID Executive Director, Matthew Lee, shared insights on the economic impact of the Tucker trail system and reminded attendees not to live beneath their privileges in terms of government services. The resources exist to solve today’s challenges. The strength of working together, as members of the CID, can open doors to solutions across the community and across the region.
