On December 11th Tucker-Northlake CID Executive Director Matthew Lee led the Art in the Alleys Steering Committee on a walking tour of the alleys in Downtown Tucker.

Over one mile of alleys existed in Tucker’s original town grid created in the 1890s. Today many of those alleys are still public right of way but have not been used for decades. The Downtown Tucker Master Plan brought renewed interest to reclaiming the alleys for pedestrian use and a plan to do so was developed into the Downtown Tucker Grid Plan.

The committee of local business owners and community leaders has been charged with identifying opportunities for art that will enhance the character of Downtown Tucker. For more information on the Art in the Alleys project, visit tuckeralleys.org.
