This month the Tucker-Northlake CID is expanding its street sweeping operation to include portions of twenty additional streets and over forty curb miles in the CID’s service area. The expansion aligns with the changes on Chamblee Tucker Road, the renewed focus on the southeast end of the CID, and the effort to elevate the Northlake area.

The expanded list includes sections of streets that are entirely commercial as well as those with a mix of commercial and residential property:

1. Bibb Boulevard
2. Briarcliff Road (Henderson Mill Road to Lavista Road)
3. Chamblee Tucker Road (Tucker Norcross Road and Lavista Road)
4. Church Street
5. Cowan Road
6. Dillard Street
7. East Exchange Place
8. Florence Street
9. Hanfred Lane (Dillard Street to Cowan Road)
10. Henderson Mill Road (Briarcliff Road to Lavista Road)
11. Henderson Mill Road (Northlake Pkwy to Briarcliff Road)
12. Hugh Howell Road (Lawrenceville Hwy to Tucker Industrial Road)
13. Idlewood Road (Lawrenceville Hwy to Fellowship Road)
14. Kilman Circle
15. North Bibb Drive
16. Old Cooledge Road
17. Rosser Terrace (Hugh Howell Road to Florence Street)
18. South Bibb Drive
19. Steel Drive (North of Lawrenceville Hwy)
20. West Exchange Place

In addition to a more attractive curb line, street sweeping reduces the amount of debris that can fill storm drains, helps prevent flooding on streets, and removes small objects from the road that can lead to flat tires and cracked windshields. Street sweeping also increases safety for cyclists who choose to use bike lanes.
