The October 16th Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District (CID) Stakeholder Meeting brought together business leaders, elected officials, and community partners to discuss the CID’s latest progress in safety, technology, and development.

DeKalb County Commissioner Robert Patrick provided an overview of District 1 responsibilities, underscoring his commitment to accessibility and responsiveness. Public safety was a major focus, with updates on CID-funded off-duty police patrols and the city’s graffiti removal efforts.

The implementation of Flock Safety cameras, a collaborative investment by the CID, City, and County, continues to be highly effective in solving both property and violent crimes. Commercial property owners were reminded to ensure their cameras are operational and able to share footage quickly with law enforcement.

The meeting also highlighted tools available to CID members, including data collected through Placer.ai. This powerful platform offers valuable market insights that help local businesses better understand customer behavior and traffic patterns, providing a strong advantage for members.

“To remain competitive within the region, and really to advance, we need to engage with better tools and strengthen our partnerships,” said Matthew Lee, Executive Director of the Tucker-Northlake CID. “We are now able to see, more than ever before, who is coming to Tucker, what they bring in spending capacity, and what they are looking for elsewhere.”

Attendees also learned more about the vision for Tucker’s emerging trail network. “Trail development done right is economic development,” said Lee. “Woodstock and others are getting it right with trail networks that connect residents to commerce and social events. Tucker can do the same with its plan—and at a faster pace with the right vision.”

Additional discussions addressed concerns about sanitation truck access in newly constructed developments and ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with growth. The Tucker-Northlake CID remains committed to fostering a safe, vibrant, and economically robust community for all stakeholders. A copy of the meeting slides is available through this link.
