August continues to be a time of growth and change for commercial property owners in the Tucker-Northlake CID. The Tucker City Council approved a request from Fifth Third Bank for a drive-thru ATM and four additional parking spaces at its new property at the corner of Lavista Road and Montreal Road. The bank will replace the former Kasey’s Home Cooking which closed earlier this year. Additionally, Captain D’s on Montreal Road, a long-standing business since 1976, closed this month.

The much anticipated Nicky’s Undefeated opened at 2316 Main Street (Try the water ice), Books & Brew opened at 4316 Lawrenceville Hwy (Read responsibly), Mint Coffeehouse opened at 3926 Lawrenceville Hwy, and the Hampton Inn Atlanta Northlake completed a remodel of the interior.

To help promote Tucker and attract advertising, RoughDraft Atlanta released the first print edition of the Tucker Reporter. For auto enthusiasts, the last Tucker Cruise-in of the year will be held on Saturday September 14th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

In leadership news, CID Board member and vice chair Chip Cofer was honored by Georgia Entertainment for his influence in Georgia’s film industry. Additionally, the CID’s executive director, Matthew Lee, along with Tucker resident Anne Lerner (Public Affairs Director for Georgia Transmission), was accepted into the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute Class of 2024, alongside 55 other regional leaders.

Congratulations to everyone working hard to make Tucker one of the best places to do business in metro Atlanta!
